Sad :(( posyed 4/19/2010

If you have read this blog then most know about our stray cat- "mama kitty" that adopted us and that we have been taking care of since our neighbors moved 2 years ago. Everyday we put out fresh food and water for her and even made a little house for shelter from the weather. Even though she would never let us really get close enough to touch her she was close enough by coming to our front door and looking in, and she would kneed on the door and windows looking in. She definitely communicated with our cats, lol. When mom would come home or sometimes myself she would come running from where ever she was at the time to our house. Its like she knew we were there to take care of her.

Anyways, mama kitty showed up at our house last Thursday and mom was worried about her because she hadn't seen her around the past couple days like normal. When calling for her, she did come out from under the bush but she had a faint cry and wasn't acting her normal. Her eyes looked watery and she looked sick! :(( We tried to get close enough to her but she kept her distance and went back under the bush. So we put water and food right where she could reach it. She took off and We kept looking for her but haven't seen her since until tonite. She was curled up in the shelter we made for her, we gave her fresh food and water but she is not eating and looking frail. She's looks shaky and weak when walking, Her eyes are still watery and her cry is faint. We think she is having some difficulty breathing as well, but each time we try to get close to her she runs away. Tried getting help tonite without success. Right now she is staying close to our house but keeping her distance from us. We are going to try again in the morning if she is still here to attempt to catch her and seek Veterinary assistance. We called the cruelty division of the TAHS for help in catching her. Hopefully we will get a response from them in the am and get this kitty some help.

I know she's not our cat, but its hard for us to sit back and do nothing, We have to do something because we can't stand to see an dog or cat suffer in any way. Hopefully we will have a positive end to all of this. I know our Vet says we can't save every stray but we feel a little attachment with her. :((
